Dear Sunland Village East Community,

We wanted to share with you the passing of Joyce Pandrok, who passed away on Monday, June 29th. She was 84 years young. Joyce was a long-time resident of Sunland Village East, having moved from Donora, PA (Pittsburgh) in 2005 after retiring from a career as a bank teller to be closer to her beloved grandson Jake and son Fred. In May of 2021, she moved to The Summit at Sunland Springs Assisted Living.

Joyce was very active in the community by volunteering in many different SVE social organizations, including Singles and bocci, and working in the office as a volunteer. She volunteered as a travel coordinator for many trips organized by the community. She never missed a chance to take a bus ride to San Diego or to Prescott to see the Christmas lights. Joyce loved being involved and engaged while taking advantage of many of the community’s wonderful amenities. She particularly looked forward to the Friday afternoon “Jam Sessions” and visiting with the musicians who shared their talents with the residents. She worked endlessly with the election committee and helped set up many functions in the Auditorium and the Kiva Room for groups or individuals. Joyce loved Larry & Ted for all of the help they always provided.

During Joyce’s time at Sunland Village East, she made many incredible friends who shared her interests, humor, and love of being social. She loved playing Rumicube, cards, board games, or just visiting and sharing a meal with Rita, Ellie, Phoebe, and Marilyn.
Mark & Shari were beautiful neighbors who always kept a caring eye on Joyce and helped her with minor issues at her home on Kiva.

While there will not be any service, if anyone would like to honor Joyce, please feel free to help one of her favorite charities, Sunshine Acres, in any way possible.
