Keith Slater, age 77, passed away peacefully, comforted by his wife, on October 2, 2022, at the Lund House Hospice in Gilbert, AZ, from stroke related complications.

Keith was born in Minneapolis, MN and graduated from Roosevelt High. He married his high school sweetheart, Sherri, and they had two children, Beth and Michael. He was a responsible and loving husband and father.

Keith started work as a surveyor for the MN Department of Transportation and worked his way up to the Right of Way Manager for Mn/DOT Metropolitan Division. He was very proud to be a part of Minnesota’s road improvements. He retired after 40 years to care for Sherri’s progressive illness.

Keith was an active member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Golden Valley as an usher and member of the Long-Range Planning Committee.

Several years later, he met and married Sandra and moved to Sunland Village East in Mesa, AZ. There, he and Sandra enjoyed participating in many golfing events, card games, dinner parties and spending time together. He loved his citrus trees in the backyard and shared lots of fruit with everyone. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren and made time to call them as often as possible to check in.

He is survived by his wife Sandra, his children Beth Katchmark, Michael (Lori) Slater, and his grandchildren Laura, Sarah, and Benjamin. He is also survived by his two brothers Larry (Anita) Slater and Gary Slater.

He is preceded in death by his parents George and Ernestine Slater, his wife Sherri, and his son-in law Tim Katchmark.

A funeral service will be held at:
11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 10, 2022, at Victory Lutheran Church, 5946 E. University Drive, Mesa, AZ 85209 with a luncheon to follow.

Private burial at:
Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
